This is one for those who are interested in learning more about Wernicke’s Korsakoff’s syndrome. Many people will say that there is often poor understanding by the medical profession and it is difficult to find authoritative information. Since 2006 Milan and I have built our experience working with people who have ARBD. Then last year we found a report compiled by a team from the Western Health & Social Care Trust. It is a report with which we totally agree. Although it was written from the perspective of Northern Ireland, it applies to all of the UK. Here it is presented by Dr Scott Payne and Dr Mark Owens.
Dr Owens, research assistant on the project, has agreed to support ARBD Awareness in our quest to get a better understanding of WKS. We know that he not only helped compile the report but that he really understands the problems of WKS in the UK. It is worth the watch.
